(Sunday) received about Floyd
Boze
February 7, 2011 Club Meeting
Review
Today was Floyd Boze Day at Space Center
Rotary, 93 years young, member of Rotary since 1948, and
member of our Club since 1973. Rena Deitrich led
members in singing Happy Birthday to Floyd. Dennis
Dillon gave the prayer, Geoff Atwater led the Pledge of
Allegiance to the U. S. Flag, and Jerrold Dewease kicked off
the Four Way Test. Pam Culpepper introduced visitors and
guests, including several residents from Hope
Village.
President David Coney recognized Floyd
Boze on the occasion of his 93rd birthday and
touched on Floyd’s background as a long time Rotarian (with
over 60 years of perfect attendance), golfer, businessman and
veteran. Floyd shared family anecdotes and garnered
laughter as he reminded members that marriage is a better deal
than twinship
Jerry Smith asked for volunteers to
deliver roses to four nursing homes on Valentines Day. A
sign up sheet is available for interested members.
John Branch introduced Mary Kay
Gaido, wine buyer for Gaido’s Seafood
Restaurants. Mary Kay shared stories from her recent
wine immersion class through the Culinary Institute of
America, and discussed wine selection techniques.
President Coney thanked Mary Kay for her presentation and
adjourned the meeting.
