The history for the Rotary Club of Space Center (Houston), Texas, and U.S.A. has been compiled from previously written histories and chronologies which can be found in the Welcome section of the Home Page.   For the most part, the wording of these previously written histories have been used verbatim except for the insertion of additional information found elsewhere, obvious errors, and annotations by Historian 2009.

There were very few documents in the history file.  No information could be found about  financial information or specific money donations made except $50 for World Community Services.

The Club continued to meet at the King's Inn.

There were 19 Board meeting
minutes.  The July 1, 1967 Semiannual Report of Club Membership states that the memberships was 75 active members.  The  Club's Roster   is based on the July 1, 1967 Semiannual Report of Club Membership.

There were only 2 newsletters,
Blastoffs, (February 27 and June 12) out of a noted 27 programs in the  Club Programs and Special Events  listing.  The Blastoffs were legal size written on front in various colors such as purple and beige.

The Club's avenues of service committee members can be viewed by clicking on Committee Members .

The club membership voted to move the luncheon meeting to the Nassau Bay Hotel and the Board meetings were also held there.  Earlier in the year the Board meet at the Holiday Inn.  Jim Lovell, Astronaut, was accepted for Honorary Membership.  The Board was expanded to include the addition of a second vice-president beginning the next Rotary year.  Community service projects included financial aid to the World Community Service and Boy's Home, a resolution supporting the Big Thicket Park, a Career Day Luncheon for guest speakers, and a Committee review of Boy's Home needs.  The Space Center Club was selected to host the District 589 Conference during April 1968.

The 58th Rotary International Convention was held May 21-25, 1967 in Nice, France.  There were 19,362 in attendance.  Martin Gracey represented the Club.  No record could be found regarding District 589 Conference.
